Dewy Summer Look: Dupes Edition

Hi beauty babes! Dewy skin is being seen everywhere right now. And not because of climate change. This luminous look is perfect for anyone and gives the illusion of no makeup with a radiant, fresh finish.image2 (3)

The key to achieving dewy skin lies in using the right products. Your main focus should be on an illuminating foundation and highlight. Then, add a touch of bronzer and blush to complete the look.

Now you might be thinking, “I don’t have the budget for the right products“-  but you’re wrong. The newest trend in makeup is trading high end, expensive products in for dupes: products that allow you to achieve the name brand look on a drugstore budget.

Luckily for you, I did some research on the most popular dupes that give you that perfect summer glow.

We know that summers in Texas can be so hot that many of us can’t take two steps out the door without our makeup melting off. Since we want to make sure that our skin stays looking fresh and glowing all day, let’s talk primers. If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out Smashbox’s new Photo Finish Radiance primer, it’s a definite must. For fans of the original Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($36), save some money with the NYX Studio Perfect Photo-Loving Primer ($12.99). Both give your skin a silky finish and feel very lightweight. Using a primer will provide a smooth and even base for your foundation.

If you haven’t had the chance to try the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64) or BECCA’s Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation ($44), I don’t blame you. Instead try L.A. Girl’s Pro Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Foundation for only $8.99! I found mine at ULTA and it wears beautifully. It’s a full coverage foundation but feels so lightweight. The formula is paraben-free with antioxidants that help hydrate and improve your skin’s appearance while still giving it a natural radiance. Pair it with their Pro Conceal HD Concealer to hydrate and brighten up your under eyes.

For a sun kissed face, add some bronzer. I like to use the Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder ($4.99) in place of Benefit Cosmetics’ HOOLA Matte Bronzer ($29). It’s a lot more product for a great price and can be used for contouring.

For even more of a summer glow, try L.A. Girl’s Strobelite Strobing Powder ($7.99) in “80 Watt”. It looks just as beautiful as BECCA’s “Champagne Pop” for about a fourth of the price.

Finish off your look by adding a bit of color with a beautiful, brightening blush like NYX’s Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Pinkie Dust. You can also apply a bit onto your lips for a natural plump.

Now you can enjoy radiant skin at a reasonable cost. Hope to catch you glowing like the goddess you are this summer!

xx, Natalie Arriaga
