The 10 Most Insta-Worthy Murals in Austin

by Jennifer Ellis

Along with live music and breakfast tacos, Austin, Texas is known for its murals. If you haven’t seen at least fifty Instagram posts in front of the iconic “I love you so much” mural, you’ve been living under a rock. With so many unique pieces of art and expression, it sometimes becomes a habit to simply venture out to the most popular murals. With this, I decided to go on a hunt to find some hidden gems. I stumbled upon some pretty cool art that would make any Instagram post stand out, urging people to ask you where in the world you took that photo. Here are 10 murals well-suited to make your pictures a perfect 10.

Along my journey across Austin searching for murals, I learned that there are countless numbers of beautiful pieces that are simply overlooked. I encourage you to adventure out into the city and spend the day exploring this vibrant city, filled with endless contributions made by talented artists. The moral of the story — or should I say, mural of the story — is that there are so many opportunities in Austin. Don’t merely succumb to what the first website on Google says to do, make the city your own! •
