November Mix

Wearing: All black, athleisure, sweaters even though it isn't quite cold enough, costumes consisting of sparkles and tights and gloves galore, long skirts & graphic tees. A lot of bell bottoms and black, variations of my favorite white and cream pieces of loungewear, smokey eyes and long sleeves that reach my fingertips.

Doing: Ballet, drinking hot coffee again, watching the leaves slowly change, looking forward to the holidays, volunteering at the farm again, eating produce grown by friends. Going to Barre classes, drinking too much caffeine. Studying, yoga, watching drag race, and living. Writing, writing, and more re-writing of Chinese characters, sipping lots of green tea, and hosting French Film nights. Pulling all-nighters partying and essay-writing, and playing dress-up.

Reading: Mary Oliver poems, Rayne Fisher Quann’s Substack “Internet Princess,” Lots of poetry collections, “Never Let Me Go” by Ishiguro Kazuo, “Mrs. Dalloway” by Virginia Woolf

Feeling: A little stuck in between — in the middle of being a child and being an adult, in the middle of summerfallwinter. Tired, but grateful and fulfilled. Exhausted but so excited for this semester to be finished. Like there’s simply not enough time in the day to complete all that I want, but coping by enjoying the last remnants of October warmth before true autumn begins to usher itself in. Buzzing with happiness and stress at once, like I’m speeding at 120 through the month.
